Hello and Welcome to Behind the Friction, Reader! Every Friday, I pull back the curtain on something I’ve noticed while working on my own business… hoping it helps you see yours a little differently too. Looking for a previous issue? They are all available to read on my website. ~ ๐ ~ I’m going to keep today’s Behind the Friction short. Not because I don’t have anything to say. Quite the opposite. ๐ But it’s Friday afternoon, I’ve got way too many things that pulled me away from the computer, leaving me with about half an hour before we leave to pick up my son from camp. This week has once again been a good reminder that our businesses don’t happen in a nice little bubble where nothing else needs our attention! โ This made me think about the Birthday Celebration experiment from last week. One of the questions I asked was: What might get in the way I wanted people to think ahead and notice the friction before it happened. Except… we’re not always very good at predicting what will get in the way, are we? Sometimes we know exactly what we want to do and then real life comes along with completely different plans. And yet, when something in our business isn’t moving, how quickly do we start looking for what’s WRONG? Maybe I’m procrastinating. โ But what if there isn’t always something to fix? What if sometimes we simply don’t have That’s the question I want to leave you with this Friday. Think of something in your business that isn’t moving the way you’d like. Before you start fixing, changing, abandoning or buying something to solve it, ask: Is something actually getting in the way here, or is my bandwidth simply full right now? And don’t overthink your answer. Actually, don’t overthink anything for me today. ๐ Just see what comes up. Because if the idea is wrong, that’s useful to know. But if life has simply filled every available corner for a little while? Maybe you just needed to stop calling it a business problem. Have a wonderful weekend!
P.S. I’m off to pick up my son after his overnight Survivor camp, and I have a feeling I’m about to get a very good reminder that sometimes life deserves the bandwidth. ๐ โ . === . NOTE: I’m moving things around in the backend to make room for a new project. Can you help me spot “bad experiences” regarding my site, your members’ area, communications, or whatever? I would really appreciate your help with this! It will make it so much easier for me to fix and improve everything that needs attention. Thank you! === . Disclosure: From time to time, I will include links in the emails that would include promotions for my own products or affiliate products, meaning I get paid when you buy the product. However, I only ever mention products I love and would recommend whether I was being compensated or not. Always use due diligence when buying anything and remember, what works for me may not always work for you! Thank you so much for your support of Stephie The Happy Mom!
