How about creating a vision board today?

Today is the day of dreaming big and of making your dreams come true.Let's start dreaming big together!

Today, let’s do something daring, something to make our lives better.Let’s create a vision board with all the things we want in life. Family fun time. Mindful life. Financial freedom. A new computer (oups, that one for me!) - whatever it is on top of your list, you should put it on your vision board.

Today is National Vision Board Day!(Second Saturday in January, but a great goal setting activity year long!)

Life is too short for boards with nothing on them 🤩

Did you know?

"Vision board parties began in 2010 between a group of friends as a way for people to get together in a fun environment to set goals, cast a vision and dream out loud in a tangible way. They then mount on their completed vision boards on their walls where they would see them every day. Seeing their hopes and dreams helps set in motion these visions and ideas to become a reality.”

When come time to create your vision board, there is no right or wrong way. But always keep in mind that what you put on it will feed your subconscious. So better be mindful with your choices from the start!

Should You Create a Physical or Digital Vision Board?

You have two main options when creating a vision board. The first is to create a good ol' fashion physical board, and the second is to create a digital vision board. The question is, which version is more effective?

There are pros and cons to each option. You sure can have fun familiarizing yourself by testing both by yourself or ... continue reading to learn more!

Physical vision boards are the most common type created by both adults and children. They typically consist of images cut out of magazines or photos, stuck onto a whiteboard or cork board.
Digital vision boards are created online. Images are taken from the internet, arrange using graphic design software and then printed off to be displayed.

How Does a Digital Vision Board Differ From a Physical One?

There are a few notable differences between physical and digital vision boards. The main one, of course, being how they are created.

It takes a little more effort to create a physical board as you need to go through the motions of cutting and pasting. However, they do give you a lot more versatility in terms of design. You can use images and quotes, or you could even add physical items onto the board. With digital vision boards, you can only use digital materials.

One of the downsides of physical vision boards is that you do need materials on hand that you can use. This means investing in magazines. If you don’t have a magazine subscription, it can get expensive finding the right materials for the board. With a digital vision board on the other hand, all of the materials you find are free.

However, while the materials for digital boards are free, printing them out professionally can make them more expensive. So, if you’re on a budget, you’ll want to stick to printing them onto photo paper or even have it as your computer background.

Creating Vision Boards is a Great Family Activity

It's a fun activity that encourages sharing and discussion and therefore strengthens the bonds between each family member.

This is also a great way to deepen your connection by learning a little more about each other.

A word of caution if you choose to create a digital vision board with your child. Teaching them how to use graphic design software can be tricky. With physical boards, on the other hand, your child likely already has the skills to create one!

Both physical and digital vision boards take time to create. However, digital boards do tend to take a little more time. So, consider any time restrictions you may have before making a decision.

When you start living your vision, the world will want to follow.

We are conditioned to think that our days are already planned for us. We are told what to do, how to dress, what’s cool and most importantly, what we can't do if we want to be accepted by society. This mental conditioning leads people into thinking that they have limited options in life.

But it's time for a change! It's time for you to take control of your destiny and make the most out of every day!
