[🎨] It wasn’t more… and it wasn’t perfect

Hello and welcome to my printables and low-content creation series, Reader 👋

Looking for a previous issue? They are all available to read on my website.

📣 Quick note before we get into it.

If you’ve been thinking about how to position your work in a changing landscape, Marisa is hosting a live workshop today (and again tomorrow).

It starts at 11h ET and I’ll be there.

I thought you might be interested in joining too as it connects directly to what we’ve been exploring here.

Over the past two emails, we looked at two things:

First, the idea that more products would solve the problem.

Then, what happens when we swing between:
starting something new…
or trying to get one thing “right”

More vs perfect.

Here’s the experiment I teased you about.

A photography professor split his class into two groups.

One group was graded on quantity.
The more photos they produced, the better their grade.

The other group was graded on quality.
They only had to submit one photo… but it had to be excellent.

Quick question before I revealed the outcome of the experiement:

At the end of the course, the best photos came from the quantity group.

Not because they were rushing.

Because they were learning.

Each photo gave them something real to work with.

What worked.
What didn’t.
What to try next.

Meanwhile, the quality group spent more time thinking about the perfect shot…
than actually taking it.

This is where it gets interesting for printable creators.

It’s not about creating more.
And it’s not about getting it perfect.

It’s about whether your work is actually helping you see what’s working… and what isn’t.

Because when it doesn’t…

You keep putting in time and energy
without getting the return you expected.

More products repeat the same guess.
Perfection delays the next attempt.

And both quietly keep you stuck in the same place.

Isn’t it time for your work to start supporting you rather than just demanding more from you?

Next Money Move Snapshot .

I’d love to help you understand what really happened, so you can make your next move with confidence.

If you look at your last product, a simple question can shift a lot:

What did this show me that I can use next?

If that answer isn’t clear, it’s usually not a motivation problem.

It means something in the experience is hard to see from the inside.

And that’s often the difference between:

working hard without results…
or making small, precise changes that actually move things forward.

NOTE: I’m moving things around in the backend to make room for a new project. Can you help me spot “bad experiences” regarding my site, your members’ area, communications, or whatever? I would really appreciate your help with this! It will make it so much easier for me to fix and improve everything that needs attention. Thank you!

Disclosure: From time to time, I will include links in the emails that would include promotions for my own products or affiliate products, meaning I get paid when you buy the product. However, I only ever mention products I love and would recommend whether I was being compensated or not. Always use due diligence when buying anything and remember, what works for me may not always work for you!
