Earlier this month, I decided to try something new—a playful little “Bdaycation” promo to celebrate turning 46 with a wink (1978 ➝ 78% off ).

The idea?
Make it light. Fun. Low-pressure.
Daily XP Challenges you could do in minutes,
A giveaway for 3 months inside The Nest,
and a gentle nudge to reconnect with your creative spark.

In my head, it felt like the perfect mix of fun and ease. In real life… let’s just say it didn’t land the way I imagined.

Turns out, family life + summer brain + building the whole thing on the fly = not the smoothest launch I’ve ever done. 😅

I didn’t warm you up ahead of time.
I didn’t give you a clear next step.
And I could feel it—the energy just didn’t land the way I imagined.

But there was one beautiful spark: Sue joined in and won 3 months inside The Nest! 🎉

And that alone made the whole thing worth it.

Because here’s what this “experiment” reminded me:

Creativity in business works just like any creative process.

Some ideas spark right away.
Others need time.
And some? They teach you the exact lesson you needed—even if it stings a little.

Here’s what I’m carrying forward:

• Timing and energy matter. (August is a tricky month for focus.)
• Discounts don’t create magic—experiences do.
• Playfulness is powerful, but clarity is queen.

So while the Bdaycation didn’t bring the fireworks I hoped for, it did give me fresh clarity for what’s next. And I’ll be sharing those lessons in more depth with my Nesters as we shape the future of our cozy creative hub.
