Hello, hello Reader š Is this the name you would like to be greeted with? ā Happy April Foolās Day yāall! Today, I thought of doing something different. I even wrote and scheduled this email yesterday (March 31) to make sure youāll receive it before I start my day! So, here it is⦠ā Have you ever played 2 Truths and a Lie? My son made us play a few weekends ago while the family was gathering for his birthday. We had a lot of fun discovering new facts about people we thought we knew pretty well! Since April 1 is a good excuse to start the month on a fun note, I thought Iād engage my readers in a little game that would allow them to peek into my past⦠So⦠Are you ready to play along? Here are 3 statements about me, and you have to find out which one is a lie. ā 1- I was a high school art teacher for 1 year. As some of you may know, I have an art teacher degree from Laval University. I did a few locums here and there before getting a 1-year contract to teach visual arts to 5 groups of 13ish year-old students. That was my first year-long experience of the kind, and let me say, it was a tough one, to say the least. You know the feeling, sharing your passion with kids who, for the most part, donāt even care about it? Then my son came to the world, and I decided Iād rather stay home with him! ā 2- I was director of programming for Optica Photo Club of Laval University for 3 years It was in my younger days, when I was trying to get a bachelorās degree, but wasnāt yet sure of my career choice. Being part of the photo club was the best part, and thatās why I decided to get more involved. Iād surprise myself by finding the most unusual speakers, organizing memorable outings and, above all, creating an incredible sense of belonging among our group! 3- I was a restaurant manager for a month. This one is a weird story. As you also may know, Iām a Jane-of-all-trades, and one of my trades was pastry chef, double as a cook. One of my previous teachers hired me to work at his new concept restaurant as a second, but it turned out all the chefs he was hiring found a reason to quit after a while (I never got why exactly). So my teacher just decided to stop looking for a chef that could fit with his concept and kept the restaurant open only for breakfast until heād find ⦠a new owner. So I offered to take charge of the restaurant during this period. Then, not liking at all the attitude of the new owner, I decided to leave for a new experience. ā
ā Iāll draw a $30 gift card to my store among those who guess correctly, a $20 gift card among those who didnāt guess correctly, and everyone else who submits their guess will get a $10 gift card. You have until tomorrow, Wednesday, April 2, at 8 AM EST, to submit your response. If you think this is a joke, I assure you itās not! My only lie is one of the 3 statements in bold. I promise! ā I hope youāve enjoyed discovering a little more about me and that many of you will take part in my little game! Iāll be revealing my lie and the names of the winners tomorrow afternoon. ā Until then, stay alert. ā š š š ā ā P.S.: If you notice anything thatās not working properly, whether itās a broken link, a product thatās disappeared from your account, or anything else, please donāt hold on to let me know.
