Hello and welcome to my experience design lens series, Reader π Not theory. The parts most people donβt see. Looking for a previous issue? They are all available to read on my website. π π π β Over the last weekend, I went back to something I created a while ago. Fully expecting to let it go. β Instead, I saw something I hadnβt seen before. Not a new idea. The same thing. Justβ¦ differently. β And it made me realize something a bit uncomfortable… Itβs very easy to misjudge the value of your own work. β From the inside, you see everything thatβs missing. What could be better. So you assume the problem is the thing itself. β But from the outside? People donβt see whatβs missing. They just see whatβs in front of themβ¦ βIs this for meβ¦ or not?β β And if thatβs not obviousβ¦ they donβt stay long enough to figure it out. β So what do most people do? They move on! Create something new. Without realizing they might be sitting on something that already worksβ¦ β Pattern #5: The Hidden Value Problem
This is where things get expensive. Not in effort. Youβre already putting that in. β But in time. In missed opportunities. β But 2 dicussions switched the flip for me during the weekend. Inside Barringtonβs group, the invitation was simple: Nothing fancy. But it forces a different question for me: βWhat if the problem isnβt what I createdβ¦ but how itβs being experienced?β β Around the same time, I had a few conversations with Melissa. And we kept coming back to the same thing: You donβt need something new. β Thatβs where the gap is. β And most of the timeβ¦ people donβt realize thatβs the part theyβre missing. β β β β PS: If you want to look at this more concretely: Different angles. Same underlying shift πͺ . === . NOTE: I’m moving things around in the backend to make room for a new project. Can you help me spot “bad experiences” regarding my site, your members’ area, communications, or whatever? I would really appreciate your help with this! It will make it so much easier for me to fix and improve everything that needs attention. Thank you! === . Disclosure: From time to time, I will include links in the emails that would include promotions for my own products or affiliate products, meaning I get paid when you buy the product. However, I only ever mention products I love and would recommend whether I was being compensated or not. Always use due diligence when buying anything and remember, what works for me may not always work for you! Thank you so much for your support of Stephie The Happy Mom!
